This policy outlines the handling procedures of personal information by Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd as set out in accordance with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS

Part 1 Collection of Information

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd collects company, business and personal information relating to individuals from the following sources: -
(i) Credit Publications
(ii) Industry related gazettes & reports
(iii) Government bodies such as ASIC, Land Titles, Court Records etc
(iv) External or Third parties
(v) Media
(vi) Any public record data base (e.g. telstra, white pages)
Only the information that is necessary to be collected about any company, business or personal information relating to individuals, is for the purpose of: -
(i) Debt Recovery, Collection or Location services
(ii) Credit Management Services
(iii) Credit Reporting
(iv) Placement of staff for Permanent or Temporary positions
(v) Training Services
Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will only collect personal information by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonable intrusive way.
At or before the time (or, if that is not practicable, as soon as practicable after) Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd collects personal information about an individual, Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will make the person aware of: -
(i) Why we are collecting information about them
(ii) To whom the information may be passed
(iii) And, for any other specific reason
Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will if it is reasonable & practicable to do so, collect personal information about the individual from that individual.

Part 2 Use and Disclosure

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will only use and disclose personal information for the primary purpose and will be guided by the relevant sections of NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 2 in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

Part 3 Data Quality

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will take reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up to date.

 

Part 4 Data Security

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed for any purpose for which the information may be used or disclosed under NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 2.

Part 5 Openness

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will provide this document which clearly expresses the policies on its management of personal information to anyone who asks for it.
Also on request by a person, Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will take reasonable steps to let the person know, generally, what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information.

Part 6 Access and Correction

Should an individual request access to their personal information which is held by Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd, Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will make this information available unless it falls within the area of NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 6.1 as set out in the Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000. Under NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 6.4, as set out in the Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000, Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will charge an individual or any organization a reasonable fee for access to their personal information.
If Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd holds personal information about an individual that the individual is able to establish the information is incorrect, Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd must take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up to date.

Part 7 Identifiers

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd will not adopt as its own identifier of an individual an identifier that has been assigned by another organization as set out in NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 7 in the Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000.

Part 8 Anonymity

Wherever it is lawful & practicable, individuals have the option to interact anonymously with Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd.

Part 9 Transborder Data Flows

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd may transfer personal information about an individual to someone (other than the organization or the individual) who is in a foreign country as outlined in NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 9 within the Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000.

Part 10 Sensitive Information

Commercial Credit Control Pty Ltd must not collect sensitive information about an individual unless the circumstance arises as set in NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPALS 10 of the Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000.
